An elderly woman came into our office clutching a letter about her SNAP benefits, scared and confused, having been turned away elsewhere. We sat with her, explained everything in plain language, and together corrected the issue. Her tears of fear turned to relief. This is the heart of Teach Me Again Generation 2: giving people clarity, dignity, and someone who truly cares.
Keeping a family out of the dark
A single mother reached out, terrified her electricity would be shut off due to an overwhelming bill. After explaining her situation and making several calls, we secured the remaining funds to keep her lights on. At TMAG2, we stand in the gap when families have nowhere else to turn, ensuring they don't have to struggle alone.
Meeting people where they are
In our rural communities, transportation can be a major barrier. When an elderly woman couldn't come to us for help, we went to her home. We completed her application and ensured she had everything she needed. She thanked us not just for the help, but for showing up and making her feel seen.
