The spark of a new generation
Teach Me Again Generation 2 (TMAG2) was born from both my professional experience and my personal journey. For years, I worked closely with older adults, walking beside them as they navigated the challenges of aging. Through that work, I began to understand something deeply personal — one day, I will be in their place. I will rely on the same services and programs meant to make life meaningful, and I knew I wanted more than medical transportation. I wanted dignity. I wanted respect. I wanted to be seen and heard as a whole human being, not reduced to my age.
My understanding grew even deeper when my mother suffered a stroke. She needed 24-hour care, and I quickly learned how overwhelming it is for families to secure the support their loved ones deserve. Caregivers were difficult to find, the cost was more than most families could afford, and the system was not built with compassion or accessibility in mind. That experience opened my eyes in a new way — showing me firsthand how urgently our communities in rural Louisiana and beyond need more programs, more resources, and more support.

Addressing community needs, inspiring growth
As I continued serving people, I realized something powerful: learning is not limited to childhood. At every age, we need new knowledge, a new mindset, and the willingness to grow. Whether we are youth finding our way, adults balancing responsibilities, or older adults adapting to change, we all need guidance, support, and teaching again.
Then COVID arrived and changed everything. Our routines shifted, our expectations shifted, and we all had to relearn how to live in a world that no longer looked the same. In that moment, we became a new kind of generation — a generation that needed to be taught again. That is when Teach Me Again Generation 2 took shape.

Our vision for a thriving community
My biggest hope and dream for Teach Me Again Generation 2 is to create a vibrant, inclusive space that serves people of all ages — youth, adults, seniors, families, and caregivers — offering education, support, and practical guidance that help individuals thrive in a changing world. My mission is simple: to create a space where learning never stops, where dignity is honored, and where every person is supported with compassion and respect. We envision a future where everyone, regardless of age or circumstance, has the resources to live a meaningful, engaged life in rural Louisiana communities.
"No matter your age or stage of life, you deserve the chance to learn again, grow again, and live again."
